Override & The Flip: Who Controls Price Right Now

Definition Override: when the 60 and daily groups are confirming each other, they override the weekly and monthly groups for immediate control of price direction. The flip (each new 60-minute open) either keeps control with the daily participants or hands it back to the 60, weekly, and monthly groups.

Ask yourself which participation group or groups are in control of current price direction, and for how long. The ladder, from the course:

The monthly group is the largest, the institutional group. The weekly group is who is in control this week, the daily group is who is in control today, and the 60 decides who is in control right now.

The override

Size does not equal immediacy. The day and the 60 are the groups trading right now. When they agree with each other, their combined aggression sets the immediate direction even against a green month and week. From the course: “If the daily and the 60 are the same, they’re definitely in control.”

Any other combination leaves the 60 in control, because the others are too conflicted. If the 60 turns back against the daily while the week and month go the other way, price is in conflict, but the 60 is still in control: if it takes the daily with it, price flips back into full timeframe continuity in the 60’s direction.

Month and week green, day and 60 red and agreeing: immediate control to the sellers Month green — institutions long Week green — this week long Day red — today selling 60 red — right now Day + 60 agree → immediate control to the sellers overriding the green month and week TheStrat.AI
Day and 60 red while month and week are green. The two groups trading right now agree: immediate control belongs to the sellers, size notwithstanding.

The flip

The flip is the new 60-minute open, the fastest confirm-or-negate available. In an override, watch the flip hour by hour: it either continues daily-participant control or hands it back. Full treatment, with the real June 2 sequence: The Flip.

Confirming and negating

The same relationship runs up the whole ladder: the weekly group confirms or negates the monthly group, and the daily and 60-minute groups confirm or negate the weekly group. Every new open either confirms what we know to be true or negates it.

Example: the first week of the month trades 2u. The second week either confirms it by going 2u again, or negates it by going 2d and changing what we know about the monthly group.

SPY December 2024: week 1 goes 2u and confirms the monthly group, week 2 goes 2d through week 1 low and negates it, flipping December red $580 $585 $590 $595 $600 $605 $610 Daily Weekly Monthly Nov 25 Dec 02 Dec 09 Dec 16 Nov 25 W1 W2 W3 December Dec open 602.97 SPY, late November into December 2024 — real data, day by day week 1 breaks the prior week’s high — 2u, green: the weekly group confirms the monthly group week 2 takes week 1’s low — 2d: the weekly group negates week 1 and drags the last sale through the December open the negation was the early warning — week 3 breaks down and December flips redTheStrat.AI

On the chart

MU, June 2 2026, after the 10:30 bar: the last sale is above the month and week opens (green) but below the day and 60 opens (red). The two groups trading right now agree, and they are selling.
