Uncoupling: When the Four Opens Separate
Fresh periods open stacked: the same first print serves multiple windows. Until the opens separate, some of your four facts are the same fact. Uncoupling is the moment they become four independent measurements. We gain more evidence over time, and we can still trade Monday.
The separation schedule
Watch June uncouple: real chart
MU, June 2026: a month that opened on a Monday, so the week and month share one open for the entire first week. Played through hour by hour: the second 60 separates the 60 from the day; Tuesday separates the day from the week; the second week separates the week from the month; and the second hour of week two’s Tuesday is the uncoupling: the first moment all four opens are different prints.
Week + month uncoupling
If the month begins on a Monday, the week and month opens are the same print until the second week of the month: the uncoupling waits until the following week, on the second hour of Tuesday.
If the month opens any other day, the uncoupling occurs on the second hour of the following trading day, except a Friday open, where the following Monday re-couples the day and week and the uncoupling waits for Tuesday’s second hour.
Day + 60: the daily reset
The day and the 60 (two of the four major timeframes) reset every day. This is what makes swing trading more difficult: every day is a fresh confirm-or-negate against the week and the month, whether you like it or not. Day and 60-minute signals end with the close, so every overnight hold carries continuity risk.
